The friends are back!
I can’t even begin to tell you how happy I am to announce that the second book in the Bloodfeast series, Back In The Game, is now available on Amazon!
I also can’t believe that I managed to write, edit, proofread, and publish the book in about two months. It hasn’t been easy, but it’s been totally worth it!
The first book in the series, Inside Out, got a lot of mixed reviews. In general, though, the response to the book was overwhelmingly positive.
My plan was to write the first book, publish it, and see how it did. Then, if people seemed to like it, I’d write a second and third book. Obviously, the first one did well enough that I decided to write a second book. And now, I’m working on the third!
And this week marks another first for me. I’ve never had an audio version of any of my books made before. But since so many people requested that I release an audio version of Inside Out, I decided to have one made.
At first, I thought about narrating it myself. But when I looked into it and realized how much time that would take, I decided to hire someone else to do it for me. Now that it’s finally done, I’m glad I did.
I have to say, it’s surreal listening to someone else narrate a book that I wrote. It’s the same feeling I get when I look at the cover of Back In The Game. I see the six characters and I think about all their unique personalities. Then, it hits me that they’re my characters!
I’ve only been writing fiction for two years – exactly two years, actually. I started writing fiction in April of 2016. Before that, I was mostly blogging and writing non-fiction.
I can’t wait to see what the future brings for me and my writing. I’ve always dreamed of being a writer and now I can honestly say that I am one. So many people say they want to write a book, that they’re going to write a book – well, I have written books! Now, I’m not comparing myself to anyone else. I am, however, giving myself a much-deserved pat on the back for actually doing it.
Right now, I’m focused on writing and releasing the third and (probably) final book in the Bloodfeast series. I’m not sure where I’m going to go from there, but it’ll be somewhere. I plan on continuing to write under the Ellis Michaels pen name for a long time.
I’ll probably write a standalone novel once I’m done with the Bloodfeast series. I’ve got a few ideas and might develop one of them into a book. All the books in the Bloodfeast series are between 200-250 pages, but I’d like to write a longer standalone novel.
But I don’t want to get too far ahead of myself. Right now, I’m just focused on promoting Back In The Game and getting the third book in the series written. I’ll worry about the next book after the current book’s done.
To everyone who has read, reviewed, and/or recommended Inside Out and Back In The Game – thank you! You’re the reason why I do this.
If you’ve enjoyed either of my books but haven’t left a review, please consider leaving a short review on Amazon. Every 4 and 5 star review helps me out a lot.
